My name is Adam Wood and I run for Herriman High. I am currently a Senior and I love to run. I am currently un-employed and living in my parents basement. My team is my family!! I will do whatever it takes to reach my goals. I am a lover of skittles (the Wild Berry kind) I WILL run in college and be way fast.

This run was the first run of footlocker training!! Haven't run for 6 days because Coach told me to take a break. I actually felt awful but went fast anyways. My legs hurt all over (knees, ankles and calfs) My breathing felt out of shape. We went up the grinder to Lehla and took the trail to emaline and then to mirabella then back to monarch.

Shoutout to T-Dubbs for picking it up with me the last 3 miles even though I know we both felt awful. Mile 1) 7:38  2) 7:10  3) 6:00  4) 5:36   5 )  5:32 

After words played ultimate frisbee with the team. Legs feel 1 million times worse. I can tell I'm gonna be sore tomorrow. I feel ready to go fast mentally and kill it at footlocker. Wish TRACK would come sooner.

Yeah I'm sore from ultimate frisbee!! Day 2 of Footlocker Training didn't feel any better on my legs but my breathing actually felt decent! I went slow the first mile because my legs wouldn't let me go any faster. After the first mile I busted my butt trying to catch up to varsity. We did the Shoreline trail backwords. Once I caught up with the boys and coach I could tell coach was tired and T-dubbs was the only one able to pass him so he got to go fast. Once the trail opened up Me and C-Bubbs caught up with T-dubbs and just went HAM the last mile. MILE 1) 8:13  2) 6:43  3) 7:10  4) 7:02 4.5) 6:41

Today we went on a 5 mile night run and by we I mean T-Dubbs and L-Tubbs. The reason why we didn't go earlier is because Coach Barnes said that he wanted us to play football after practice. So we all go there and it was so lame because there was way too many people, and coach was like you guys only wanna split into 2 games because your loosing and we were like oh well. On the run we were gonna stop by Becky Reds house but she wasn't home.... I didn't feel good until later in the run probs because I ate pizza an hour before. 1) 7:41  2)7:26  3)6:59  4)6:44  5)6:17

Today we didn't have a scheduled practice so me and a couple of the guys and got together to run. It was raining so it felt good but it was kind of cold. D-Subbs was creeping on little children during the run!! Afterwords we went to Meg's house to watch the walking dead!! I still gotta find a costume for tomorrow's run

Today was the Halloween run I dressed up as a sexy mummy!! There were some pretty good costumes! We went on an easy 3 mile run and ran to an elementary school parade to strut our stuff. Afterwords Barnes gave us donuts and chocolate milk! Didn't have my watch that run so I don't know the splits.

Today was our first long run this footlocker season!! It was also are 1st run with Coach Barnes in a long while. Long runs are my favorite and we absoluetly destroyed this one. It was me Caleb Tanner and Levi. We started at Butterfield Canyon and went down to 6400 where we turned and went up to cove road and turned and took that to butterfield parkway to mirabella to rosecrest to grinder and then to monarch. It was 10 miles total and fast. After about mile 4 we left Barnes in the dust. 1- 6:59   2- 6:38   3-6:20   4- 6:37   5- 6:50   6- 6:07   7- 5;59    8-5:46   9- 5:35   10- 7:04  Last mile was purposfully slow to cool down. PR for ten miles 1:04:04 so excited to start putting in the work and get FAST

We did a tempo run today. Super windy but I didn't care to much because the wind was mostly at our backs during the tempo. We started at monarch and went 3 miles to butterfield park and started on the main drive way of butterfield park and turned on 6400 and down 13400. Ran the whole thing by myself, Caleb was about 6 seconds behind me maybe a little less and tanner was right with him. Felt decent, 

8:14, 8:25, (0.5)-3:30 [Started tempo] 5:23, 5:25, 5:14 [end tempo] Half a mile cool down.

First Hill Workout!!! We did a new hill called the little bradshaw. Its up switch backs up the side of a mountain. 400M. I lead all of them with my main man TANNER WEBB and we absoluetly destroyed it. Me and Tanner really worked together on this workout. When I would push he would come and when he would push I would follow. Caleb struggled but he always struggles on hills and was telling me that he was really frustrated. Coach Barnes actually told us good job to me and tanner and I could tell he was so happy with how we ran it. 1) 2:12   2) 2:14  3) 2:10  4) 2:09  5) 2:09  6) 2;06  I am so ready to attack the next workout

2 mile warm up. Did a 5k on the AF course it was pre footlocker. Didn't feel to good during the race. Peter got 1st from herriman but that was mostly because  I was trying to experiment with my racing. Had a really strong kick. I passed Caleb on the line. This was really just a race to stratigize and try something new. Im not gonna race like that ever again because I had way to much engery at the end. Afterwords went on a 6 mile run felt fast. Felt super dizzy and just not right. I realized the reason I have felt weird the past couple of days is because im not eating enough. I have go to do a better job at eating. I was shaking after the six miles and could hardly stand. I feel motivated for footlocker and track. IM GOING TO ATTACK THE NEXT WORKOUT!!!!!!!!!

Today was kind of a windy day but not too bad. We had an interval workout at monarch meadows!! Ive been sooo ready for a workout so I was really glad we had one today!! We did 6, 500s and we were supposed to hit 1:30s based on the times we wanted to hit in races. So my group consisted of Me Caleb Tanner Corbin and Peter. I personally destroyed the workout, I led every time and I could tell coach Barnes was happy. My splits were 1:32, 1:30, 1:30, 1:27, 1:29, 1:25. Everyone else had decent workouts, Tanners back was hurting him so he couldn't push as hard, Caleb and Corbin had good workouts and Peter just pooped out (as usual) I'm excited for Pre Nike on Wednesday and I'm ready to push!!

We went on a nice and easy pre meet, but it was freezing cold!! We started at corbins house and ran 1 mile to the school, then ran inside the school for 1 mile and then we ran back to Corbins and got hot chocolate. It was snowing so my face was absolutely frozen, and it's gonna be colder at Pre Nike tomorrow. It's a weird race because there running boys and girls together! I'm still so excited!! I would love to PR tomorrow!!

Today the people going to footlocker and I went down to Layton for a Pre Nike race even though we aren't going to Nike but it was a free race!! We did a two mile warm up along the course. The course was a 1 mile loop run 3 times. My goal this race was to get as close to 16 if not break it!! I went out at a 5:17 then slowed down at a 5:25 and then my last mile was 5:20. I asked coach Barnes about it and he said that it was actually pretty good!! I feel like I need to work on my second mile and being a little more tough!! I really have a lot of work to do but I'm ready to put in some hard work!! After words we did a 2 mile cool down.

Today was a really really cold day!! We were at Butterfield canyon, and the canyon was closed so we didn't have to worry about the cars going up and down!! I wanted to go kind of slower the first half of the run so I could really push it down. With about 1 mile left going up there was tons of snow on the ground!! Which made it harder. Once we turned around I really had to be careful the first little bit but I was able to push it down the last 3 miles and got a 15:06!! Which is really fast especially for having a race yesterday!! Really excited to get faster and happy with my results so far!!

Today was the Sky View and Herriman football game at the Utes football field, so we decided to just run downtown and take tracks home. So we just did an out and back. Nice and easy. I'm SOOO tight from the past two days

So today me and Jackson Webber, Dallin Schut, Tanner Webb, and Corbin Romney wanted to do a run we haven't done and was gonna be hard! So our thought was go up Provo canyon for 5 and then flip to get 10. Well Barnes says he knows this one trail that'll take us up on the ridge and he said it was gonna be shorter!! So we said alright. We then proceed to get lost and when we finally get on the trail we have 5 miles left so it turned out to be 13 miles. And we went up 2 of the hardest hill ever!! Like mistress hard!! I was so tired after the run. It was good though it'll make me stronger

today was soooo cold and windy!! And to top it all of we had a workout!! So he told us to run to the trail leading to the resavoir (the one with the super steep hill) we get there and the workout is 3X(300, 250, 200, 100) we were kind of in a gully so there was barley any wind! I felt ok not the best, but I still attacked the workout! The last 2 I couldn't get my legs to power up no matter how hard I tried but I was still able to hit the times. 300s- 1:08, 1:10, 1:10.  250s- 1:08, 1:00, 1:00.  200- 50, 47, 51.  100- 22, 21, 20

So today was a trail run, and usually I like trail runs but my legs are so dead from the workout yesterday! So I really wanted to go slower today. I started slower but of course I started to pick it up but not to much. Barnes says we have a footlocket time trial tomorrow so Im excited to push it on that.

So today we had a time trial race. The course was fairly difficult with the first mile all up hill next half mile after that flat and maybe slighty up hill with the last 1.5 downhill. Tanner went out really fast and I figured thats because he knew there was a lot of down hill and his back hurts on down hill so I let him go ahead the first mile knowing Id catch him on the down hill. I ended up winning but not by much. Me and tanner almost got hit by a car. Barnes says it was a good workout so that made me happy. After words we went to the gym and lifted some weights.

Today was the XC banquet. So Caleb, Dallin and I had to go after at like 10 so went 7 miles and it actually wasnt too cold. Sad this is Dallin and Calebs last cross country season.

Today was the State Championships for football, so we got to leave school. Me and the guys decided to sluff 3rd period to go run 3 miles. and it was freezing. Me Tanner and Corbin after the game went to the rec to run on the tredmill so we ran about 5 miles to get 8

Today we did Suncrest which is steep 4 miles up hill but 4 miles down hill. Ive never done this run so I didn't know what to expect. We went up at a pretty slow pace but thats because we really wanted to push it on the way down and get a sub 15- 3 mile on the way down. so as we started going down I noticed my stomach wasn't feeling super good and I felt dizzy and weak. Caleb Tanner and I went down way fast. I threw up in the middle of it but still got a 3- mile time of 14:37 so we were cruising. Later in the day me and tanner went to the rec to lift. We have been lifting consitently and are gonna keep lifting. IM SO PUMPED FOR FOOTLOCKER AND TRACK.

Today we did a long run which is kind of weird cuz on Mondays it's usually hills but it's probably because thanksgiving is on Thursday and most of us are racing that day so doing a workout tomorrow would make it better. It was just a long slow 10 mile run, legs felt kinda tired from the suncrest run but not to bad. All the sophomores ran with us cuz I gave them a talk about how good they can be! They are actually going to be a real help in helping compete next year. So I have my fingers cross, I'm hoping they keep it up!

TODAY WE DID THE MISTRESS!! The mistress is the hardest hill I have ever done repeats on. It's about 300 M up hill and the goal is not to walk. Barnes told us to do 7 and of course my legs felt wobbley and I wanted to barf but that's usual for the mistress!! Earlier today Barnes said we couldn't do 9 so after we did the 7 we did 2 more to prove him wrong and I think he was really impressed!! The sophomores did really well and most of them did 9!! Dallin and Jackson Webber killed the workout today!!
